Mary Mahoney's: Biloxi, MS

Halloween is my brother, Prad's birthday.  We came up with a plan to meet half-way to celebrate with a birthday lunch at Mary Mahoney's in Biloxi, MS.  The website describes it as "fine dining", but I'll call it casual fine dining - the perfect atmosphere if you ask me!

We all started by sharing crab claws - half fried and half broiled.  The fried ones were good (it's impossible to fry something and it NOT taste good), but the broiled ones were amazing!  They came with plenty of french bread for sopping up the buttery sauce.

The mains were HUGE!

The birthday boy had shrimp and crab augratin.

Amanda had the stuffed snapper...

Dad had a seafood salad, piled high with fresh crabmeat and shrimp.

I had crawfish etoufee - easily enough for two!

And mom had stuffed shrimp.

(William had chicken strips, but I didn't photograph them!)

Everything was good, and the service was very friendly.

After lunch we stopped by the very windy beach to stretch our legs a bit before getting back in the car.

I'd call that a good Saturday!  Now we just need the threatening rain to hold off for tonight's trick-or-treaters!
