Cold Weather Pampering

Brrrrr! It is SO cold.  I was just not built for winter!  I was able to leave work early on Wednesday, so before going home to thaw out, I popped into Umeda for a bit of shopping.  Here's what I came home with!

A whole slew of pampering, feel-good "stuff".

First up, some goodies from Lush.  I visit Lush very rarely.  I think it's very overpriced and the smell is a bit overwhelming, so I am usually not able to stay in the shop long enough to pick out something.  I made this an in-and-out trip, grabbing the first things that caught my eye, paying, and getting out before the smell could give me a headache.

I got two bath bombs.  This rather boring looking one called "Dragon's Egg" (I was intrigued by the name).

And this cheery pink and flowery one which is called "Pink" (how appropriate).

I also had to get this bubble bar.  I mean, look at it!

It's called "Unicorn Horn" and apparently is only available in Japan.  It made me think of Rainbow Bright when I saw it.

I stopped at a regular old drug store and got this face mask.  It's a sheet-style mask, so it's not messy at all.  I opted for the cherry blossom "flavor" because I am very ready for the cherry blossoms to bloom!

Then I got this Burt's Bees body lotion (ew, don't look at my hand...I obviously should have picked up hand lotion as well).  The cold weather here in Osaka makes my skin very dry, so I decided to splurge a little bit and get something really moisturizing.  This one has cocoa butter so it smells a bit sunscreeny.  I love that smell though...it reminds me of the beach, which reminds me of summer, which if I try really hard, even makes me feel a little less cold!

Ok, body pampering all taken care of!  Now a little pampering for the soul in the form of some sweet treats.

Macarons from Laduree.  My favorite!  I don't treat myself to these very often since they are a rather expensive little indulgence, but oh, so good.

Also, an enormous chocolate chip cookie from City Bakery.  This shop almost always has a line wrapping around the building when I walk by.  There was no line Wednesday afternoon so I decided to see what all the fuss was about.  To be honest, the cookie was a let down.  Not much chocolate, and it was way too sweet and too crunchy.  At least now I know that it's definitely not worth waiting in a line for!

Finally, some pampering for the mind.  For me, that means blobbing at my cozy kotatsu to watch episode after episode of mindless TV (currently re-watching Gossip Girl).

It's two weeks before I get another early day at work, but I'm already looking forward to some more mind, body and soul pampering!
