I can't believe we're down to our last week in the states. We've been here since the beginning of July, and this blog certainly reminds me that we've been doing loads of things to keep busy, but the summer has absolutely flown past!
I'm so glad that even though we've been busy running all around the American southeast, I still found time to catch up with one of my dearest friends, Maria.
I met Maria during grad school at FSU. We became fast friends, and have managed to keep in touch even though we live on opposite sides of the planet. Even though we haven't actually seen each other since my wedding in 2010, when she came over last week it was like only a few weeks had gone by. Those are the best kind of friends - you just sort of pick up where you left off!
We spent a lazy afternoon in the pool just chatting away, then we all went out for dinner in Fairhope. After dinner we drove down to the pier in town and caught an absolutely beautiful sunset.
Maria, I'm so glad you were able to come stay! Hopefully we can plan something else before another four years have gone by!
