Ivey's

We've been eating at a lot of dives lately.  Don't get me wrong, I think they often have better food, and there's none of the worry that you'll drip something on the table cloth or use the wrong fork.  We had heard that Ivey's, in Robertsdale, Alabama had been deemed "the best restaurant in Baldwin County", and decided mom's birthday was the perfect excuse to give it a try!

It was quite fancy for Baldwin County...white table clothes, oil lamps on the tables, and *gasp* a business casual dress code.  Seeing as I've been living in my bathing suit topped with a t-shirt and cotton gym shorts, that was kind of a big deal!

The menu was New Orleans style southern-cajun, and pretty much everything sounded pretty good.  Unfortunately it didn't photograph near as good as it looked (or perhaps that's the photographer's fault...nah! ;)

We washed down our meals with cocktails, a couple of bottles of wine and some beers, before some of us finished off the evening with desserts - creme brûlée and New Orleans syle bread pudding.

Overall we had pretty good things to say about Ivey's, but to tell you the truth, I am just as happy to stick with roadside dives like Tambo's!
