Master Joe's Sushi

One of the major "problems" about having lived in Japan for five years (seven in Bryn's case) is that we have become major sushi snobs.  My old favorite supermarket sushi is still good, but nothing compared to what I ate when I lived minutes from the sea of Japan.  In any case, we're constantly on the look out for a decent sushi fix.

Mom had read about Master Joe's in Fairhope, Alabama which is just down the road from where we are now.  We decided to check it out for lunch one day.

It's a cute little restaurant and reminded Bryn and I a lot of restaurants in Japan, so points for authenticity there!

Most of us got the lunch special which included miso soup or a salad and three sushi rolls of your choice.  It was a ton of food for only about $10!  Bryn and I are sushi champions, so we both cleaned our plates, but the others ended up bringing a lot of their's home for later.

Overall Bryn and I thought Master Joe's had pretty decent sushi and everyone decided they would definitely be back for more!

We love their t-shirts!

After lunch we took a little walk through Fairhope (to look at a porch swing at the hardware store).  We didn't stay long since there was some pretty threatening thunder and lightening going on. It's such a cute little town though and I want to go back to walk around some more!

Bryn practically had to stand in the middle of the road to get a picture of me!
