Spreadable Speculoos

Have you had Lotus caramelised biscuits?  They are the kind Delta used to give you on their flights.  Crisp little bites of heaven, also known as speculoos cookies.  They are just yum.  B and I have been known to buy a pack (or 2...or more) and sit there eating the entire thing in a matter of minutes.  They go especially well with a nice cup of tea.

The other day I was browsing through one of the many foreign food shops when I spied this little jar.

I didn't even look at the price.  I picked it up, marched straight to the checkout counter, then rushed home to break it open.  (As you can see from the photo quality, I didn't even waste much time trying for a good one.)

It's Nutella's long lost cousin.  So smooth...so delicious!!!  I have been eating it on plain old crackers, but I imagine it would be good on practically anything.  Apple slices, toast, banana, pretzels...basically anything you'd put peanut butter or Nutella on.  I think when I'm back in the land of the oven I will be figuring out a few more things to do with it!

Perhaps I've been living under a rock and it has been around for ages...regardless, I am so thankful to have discovered it.  If it's not already in your cupboard or pantry, it needs to be.  Stop reading and go now!
