Channeling Audrey

I stumbled across the blog Travelettes a few weeks ago.  It's really meant for avid backpackers, but I am really enjoying reading it and reminiscing about the summer I backpacked through Europe with one of my summer camp friends.  Now I prefer more comfortable accommodations, my own room and the promise of a clean, hot shower in the mornings, but it's still a fun read!  Last week they posted this Instagram Challenge, so I thought it would be fun to try it out, and hopefully blog about it along the way!

Here's how it's going to work.  They have come up with a topic for each day in October for you to interpret however you want though Instagram.  Seems simple enough, so here goes!

Day One: A Change of Color


The leaves aren't changing here yet, but on my trip to Nara over the weekend I saw that the rice fields definitely are!  The rice plants are beginning to turn yellow, and some are even starting to fall.  In no time they will be golden yellow and ready for cutting.  Views like this make me miss living in the countryside and seeing this everyday.  Geez, these were probably the first rice fields I have seen since Bryn was here this summer!
